Synopsis. An inventor working for Kinetech Labs has designed a robot for search and rescue missions that has the ability to mimic human actions and emotions. After discovering that the robot’s advanced microchip is actually going to be used by Kinetech for military applications, the inventor programs the robot to flee, whereupon it is damaged. Twelve year old Henry finds the broken robot, fixes him up, and names him Cody. With no memory of his past, Cody becomes Henry’s best friend. They will team up to save their respective parents, who are being held captive by the organization that funded the robot's creator.

Un éminent scientifique découvre que ses employeurs ont choisi d'utiliser son invention, un robot initialement mis au point dans un but humanitaire, à des fins militaires. Se sentant trahi et abusé, il vole un exemplaire qui se casse lors de sa fuite ratée. Le robot est alors récupéré et réparé par un petit garçon de douze ans. Ils vont tous deux faire équipe pour tenter de sauver leurs parents respectifs, retenus prisonniers par l'entreprise du scientifique.
