Ryan Larkin, an animation pioneer and Oscar nominee, created some of the most influential animated films of his time. This was during the 1960s and 1970s, at the National Film Board of Canada. Chris Landreth is a present-day pioneer and also an Oscar nominee, but the two men have taken very different paths. Landreth created an award-winning "animated documentary" about Larkin called Ryan, which is his most personal work.
This DVD features Ryan; Alter Egos, the full-length documentary by Laurence Green about the two artists; plus earlier animated works by Chris Landreth (Bingo, The End) and Ryan Larkin (Syrinx, Walking and Street Musique).
DVD Special Features: A director's commentary by Chris Landreth, Ryan Larkin or Laurence Green accompanies each of the 7 films. Subtitles, navigation menus, biographies and production notes are included in both English and French.
