Kleyn Kabaret means “little cabaret” in Yiddish, the language of the Jewish communities of central and eastern Europe before the Holocaust. It is an invitation to a cultural journey through time and space, between music and re-arranged traditional songs, original compositions and improvisation, punctuated with texts from Jewish and Yiddish culture, combining poetry and history. .

This project, created in 2019, is a story of encounter. The meeting between two multidisciplinary artists: one Franco-American and the other Argentinian, both of Jewish origin from Eastern Europe, children of Holocaust survivor families, finding themselves in their new land of home, Quebec. They share their vision of history, mix their experiences, transcend their heritage. It is quite natural then that their artistic, family and generational backgrounds intertwine.

Kleyn Kabaret is none other than a reappropriation of their historical, cultural and artistic heritage, in which Damian involves his long-time accomplice Luzio Altobelli.
