Québec Redneck Bluegrass Project (QRBP) presents its 5th album, the most anticipated by the public and the most accomplished of its career. “ J'ai Bu ” includes 13 new tracks through which the popular group continues its exploration of the local land and traditions from elsewhere.
Armed with their traditional violin, mandolin, double bass and guitar, QRBP pushes its creative limits, not skimping on the arrangements: bouzouki, banjo, jaw harp, accordion and resonator guitar enrich the elaborate but oh so accessible and unifying melodies! All-round musical trends meet and form catchy songs with festive energy, which have made the group's reputation.
The result of three years of writing, the lyrics by JP “Le Pad” Tremblay combine inventive verve, uninhibited language and highlighting Quebec's oral heritage through the use of picturesque regionalisms.
This new album is presented in the form of a 240-page book including annotated and illustrated lyrics, the history of the group's formation in China, travel stories, recipes and unpublished photos. “ J'ai Bu ” is a true collector's item with its box binding, its hard cover covered in embossed and stamped imitation leather.
